WASHINGTON: Meta Platforms’s Instagram was down for thousands of users in the United States, according to Downdetector.com.  Downdetector’s data showed that over 5,000 users reported problems with accessing the photo-sharing platform in the US. However, Meta did not immediately react over the matter. Downdetector tracks outages by gathering status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors and issues on its platform.

Earlier, in the first week of March, hundreds of thousands of users worldwide were unable to access platforms of Meta for around two hours. However, WhatsApp remained unaffected. Users during that time faced several problems. Meta had also apologized to its users saying it fixed the issue as fast as it could. According to Downdetector the meta outages had suffered in several countries.

Meta’s social media platforms are one of the most popular across the world. Facebook has about three billion monthly users around the globe, while Instagram is likely to get 1.4 billion users in the current year.
