JEDDAH: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has celebrated the completion of the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project (MDHP) in Pakistan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
The celebration was held at IsDB headquarters in Jeddah marking one of the bank’s achievements and projects in Pakistan.
This project shows the commitment of the IsDB Group to its member states and embodies the group’s vision for a greener future.
The IsDB indicated that the dam provides clean energy generation, producing an estimated 2,862 gigawatts of renewable energy annually, significantly reducing reliance on fuels.
The project also helps agricultural development over 6,773 hectares, boosting food security and livelihoods for farmers.
It further enhances flood management capabilities, bolstering community protection and infrastructure against floods.
This project not only supplies energy to homes and farms but also nurtures hopes for a prosperous and sustainable future.
