WASHINGTON: US State Department principal deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel has said that Islamabad is one of the most important partners of Washington in the region.
Briefing the media persons in Washington, he said: “Pakistan continues to be one of our most important partners in the region.”
Responding to a question, the spokesperson said that there continues to be a lot of cooperation that the Washington have with Pakistan’s government, especially in the trade and security space sector.
Islamabad Vs Washington
Vedant Patel added that Pakistan Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb during his trip to the US earlier this month also held talks with members of the State Department. This is a healthy ties and we’ll look to continue strengthening it, the spokesperson added.
Responding to another question, he stated that they have been clear with nations around the world the integral role that a free press and media play in the fabric of democracy.
