GAZA CITY: Amid the four-day truce between Israel and Hamas, concerns have emerged over the lists of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners set to be released on Monday. An official familiar with the matter revealed that both Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas had raised concerns with the lists, prompting Qatari mediators to step in and work towards a resolution to avoid potential delays.

The official stated, “There is a slight issue with today’s lists. The Qataris are working with both sides to resolve it and avoid delays.”

During the initial days of the truce, a protocol had been established, requiring Israel to submit the names of Palestinian women and children it planned to release from jail, while Hamas would reciprocate with the names of Israeli civilian hostages at least 12 hours ahead of the scheduled release.

Efforts Underway to Extend Truce Between Israel and Hamas

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are underway to extend the temporary ceasefire brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.

Palestinian Authority’s Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki, speaking at a news conference in Barcelona alongside Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares, indicated ongoing discussions about prolonging the truce.

Al-Maliki emphasized the need for a lasting ceasefire to prevent a rise in Palestinian civilian casualties in Gaza and suggested the possibility of extending the current truce for “one, two, three days,” although the duration remains uncertain.

On the humanitarian front, Dr. Mohammed Zaqout, the general manager of hospitals in Gaza, disclosed that hospitals in northern Gaza had not received any fuel during the four-day truce, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Dr. Zaqout noted that the field hospitals recently established in Gaza would require five to seven days to become operational. The Israeli army’s destruction of 21 private hospitals and 13 public hospitals across the enclave has further strained the healthcare infrastructure.

In the midst of these challenges, Ahli Arab Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital, and Al Awdah Hospital stand as the last operational medical facilities in northern and central Gaza.
