Kazakhstan’s President to Embark on Official Visits to Italy and Vatican

ASTANA: President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is set to embark on official visits to Italy and the Vatican City State on January 18-19, marking a strategic effort to enhance diplomatic relations and foster economic collaboration, as reported by Akorda, the press office of the president.

During the initial day of the visit, President Tokayev is scheduled to engage in talks with the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The discussions will cover a range of bilateral issues aimed at deepening cooperation between the two nations.

As part of the visit, President Tokayev will participate in the “Kazakhstan – Italy” investment roundtable, providing a platform for dialogue with the leadership of prominent Italian companies. The investment roundtable seeks to strengthen economic ties and explore avenues for mutual investment and growth.

Moreover, the Kazakh leader is scheduled for an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican on January 19. This meeting will address shared values and cooperative efforts on various fronts.

President Tokayev’s itinerary also includes visits to the headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), emphasizing Kazakhstan’s commitment to global initiatives related to food security and sustainable agriculture.
