RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and France on Thursday inked a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the sector of energy. KSA’s Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and French Foreign Minister inked the memorandum of understanding to set up a framework for cooperation in the energy field.
KSA-France vow to cooperate in energy sector
As per the memorandum the two sides will cooperate in the fields of renewables, electricity, energy efficiency, storage, oil, smart grids, and gas and their derivatives, petrochemicals, refining, and the distribution and marketing.
The MoU also calls for enhance cooperation in technologies which mitigate the effects of climate change.

The two sides will cooperate in localization of materials, digital transformation, products, and services related to the energy sectors, combined research, and skill training as per the MoU.
Saudi’s Minister for Energy and French Foreign Minister also exchanged views over future opportunities in several fields of energy, as well as the prospects for cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
