Kyrgyzstan Urges Central Asian States to Strengthen Collaboration on Afghanistan

BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kulubaev, has called for increased cooperation and coordination among Central Asian nations concerning Afghanistan during the 13th Annual Meeting of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian states.

Emphasizing the crucial role of achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan for regional security and prosperity, Kulubaev urged his counterparts to work together in addressing the challenges posed by the situation in Afghanistan.

At the meeting held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Kulubaev highlighted the significance of a unified approach to promote peace in Afghanistan. He expressed his country’s support for the efforts of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

He conveyed gratitude to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, Roza Otunbayeva, for her contributions within the framework of UNAMA’s mandate.

Discussions on Current Situation in Afghanistan

The two-day gathering saw the participation of Roza Otunbayeva, who played a role in the discussions regarding the current state of affairs in Afghanistan. The meeting concluded on Tuesday, with an emphasis on fostering regional collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities stemming from the situation in Afghanistan.
