ISLAMABAD: Prepare to tantalize your taste buds with our recipe for Mini Sweet Dahi Bhallay.
Ingredients:
For Imli Chutney:
- 2 cups Tamarind pulp
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For Bhallay:
- 2 cups Dal mash (soaked)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- Oil for frying (as required)
- Water for soaking (as required)
For Yogurt Mixture:
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Chaat masala
- 1/4 tsp Salt
For Assembling:
- Imli chutney (as required)
- Prepared bhallay (as required)
- Yogurt mixture (as required)
- Chaat masala (as required)
- Pomegranate (as required)
Instructions:
- Heat tamarind pulp, sugar, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt in a pan until the sugar dissolves. Cook until it thickens to form a slurry. Let it cool at room temperature and set aside.
- Blend the dal mash in a blender until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and add baking soda and salt. Mix well.
- Spoon the mixture into frying oil and fry until crispy.
- Transfer the fried bhallay to water and soak for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze out excess water by pressing gently. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, sugar, chaat masala, and salt until well combined.
- In a serving dish, assemble the imli chutney, prepared bhallay, yogurt mixture, and top with chaat masala and pomegranate. Your Mini Sweet Dahi Bhallay are now ready to enjoy!
