KYIV: The Kremlin has rejected Kyiv’s claims that Russian military fighting on the frontline were using Starlink Internet terminals, western media reported on Tuesday.

Kyiv’s GUR military intelligence agency stated it had evidence that the terminals were being used on a “systematic” ground by Russian forces, alleging Moscow of “smuggling” them into the nation.

Starlink is a network of satellites in low Earth orbit to provide Internet to remote areas that have had normal communications infrastructure deactivated. The owner of the company Elon Musk said that his companies have probably done more to undermine Moscow than anything. He criticized the United States funding to Ukraine. He maintained that SpaceX had taken away two thirds of Russian space launch business and that “Starlink has overpoweringly helped Kyiv.

On the other hand, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it cannot be officially supplied here. The spokesperson maintained that the system is not working in Russia. Ukraine has alleged Russian forces of using the device across the frontlines in Ukraine.

Ukraine itself has also widely used Starlink to ensure communications and connectivity for its forces during the two-year conflict.

X owner called reports SpaceX had sold Starlink terminals to Moscow “categorically false” in a post on his social media account.

Last year the SpaceX tycoon also rejected a request to activate the network in the Crimean city of Sevastopol to support a Ukrainian assault on Russia’s naval fleet.
