Muslim World League Holds Regional Conference on Coexistence, Tolerance

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina: The Muslim World League (MWL), has organized a regional conference in Sarajevo to promote coexistence, peace and tolerance, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

According to the SPA the event was held in partnership with the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an aim to strengthen these values and preserve the progress made in this area amidst ongoing global developments.

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, chaired the inaugural session of the conference with the presence of Secretary-General of the MWL, and the Speaker of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mohammed Al-Issa.

The conference saw an active participation from various political figures, including parliamentary and governmental representatives, religious leaders, and members of civil society.

Komsic, in his opening remarks, underscored the importance of the conference and praised the unprecedented diversity in attendance and participation. The focus of the conference was on promoting coexistence, tolerance and peace.

During the ceremony, Al-Issa lauded the harmony and solidarity shown by the Balkan model, highlighting its ability to draw lessons from history. He also praised the model’s awareness and wisdom in decision-making on crucial matters.

Al-Issa stressed that the Balkan model symbolizes a chapter of civilization oriented towards the future and the well-being of coming generations, transcending challenges and difficulties.

He further said that the Balkan model is an inspirational example for others, drawing lessons from its own history and avoiding the consequences of religious, ethnic, and partisan conflicts.
