ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has banned political activity within the parameter of 400m of the polling stations as the nation heads to polls today (Thursday).
The top electoral body, in its letter to all provincial election commissioners, stated that there is a ban in place on all kind of political activities within 400-metre area from the polling stations.
Additionally, the commission also barred party workers from putting up notices, symbols, banners or flags within 100-metre of the polling stations. All activities such as canvassing and electioneering for candidates will be banned, it added.
The provincial election commissioners have also been directed to order monitoring teams for visiting all polling stations on the polling day.
