QUETTA: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has agreed to pay 12.6 billion rupees to the Balochistan government as royalty of Uch Gas Field.

Balochistan government and OGDCL have agreed on a mechanism for payment of royalties from August to January 2024 on a monthly tranche basis.

The Balochistan government has taken steps to receive billions of rupees from OGDCL as royalty of Uch Gas Field.

The OGDCL had withheld royalty payments to the Balochistan government from September 2021 because of an abnormal increase in the revolving credit of power-buying companies.

Balochistan’s caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki had raised the issue at the national forums.

Now, the OGDCL has accepted the caretaker provincial government’s position and agreed to pay the royalty due for three years.

Royalty is Right of Balochistan

Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki said that royalty is the right of Balochistan and will be utilized for the welfare of the people.

He said that companies operating in the province are obliged to pay royalties according to the laws.
