Pak Army’s Rescue, Relief Operation Underway at Tanda Dam

KOHAT: Following the tragic incident of a boat capsizing, the Pakistan army’s rescue and relief operation is underway at Tanda Dam in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Tuesday.

At least 57 seminary students drowned when a boat capsized at the Tanda Dam. Five students were rescued alive while 51 dead bodies of the students were recovered as a rescue operation is underway.

Pakistan army troops, along with Rescue 1122 and civil administration working constantly day and night for 72 hours, rescued five students alive from Tanda Dam, ISPR said.

Pakistan army engineers and divers of SSG recovered 51 deceased students and teachers from Tanda Dam, ISPR said.

The five rescued students have been shifted to District Hospital Kohat. The search for one missing individual is ongoing.
