Pakistan and Iran Boost Cooperation to Counter Terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering bilateral ties aimed at combating terrorism and extremism in the region. Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Raza Amiri Moghaddam, and Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, recently convened in Islamabad to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration in this regard.

Recognizing the significance of fostering connectivity through trade routes, especially along the 900-kilometer shared land and maritime border, Minister Ahsan Iqbal underscored the potential of such cooperation to promote peace and stability in the region.

The agreement signifies a joint effort by both countries to address common security challenges and foster mutual understanding, laying the groundwork for sustained cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
