ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s full commitment to a stable, peaceful, prosperous Afghanistan.

As mentioned in the Twitter handle of the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a telephone conversation with Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Afghan Minister for Foreign Affairs, where both the leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest.

Pakistan’s commitment to peace

Earlier, Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif warned the Taliban government that Islamabad would strike terrorists’ hideouts inside Afghanistan if the rulers in Kabul were unable to rein in anti-Pakistan militants.

In a recent interview with VOA, the defence minister said in his late-February visit to the war-torn country that he reminded Taliban leaders to fulfil their cross-border security commitments while baring terrorists from using Afghan soil to plan and foil attacks on Pakistan, otherwise Islamabad will take action.

Since the Afghan Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August 2021, Pakistan has suffered from increased terror attacks led by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an ideological offshoot and ally of the Afghan Taliban.
