Pakistan Offered Unparalleled Sacrifices in Fight Against Terror: PM

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said on Wednesday that Pakistan has fought the menace of terrorism most valiantly, offering unparalleled sacrifices. He said that armed forces have played key role in this regard, a PM House statement said.

He was speaking at the Pakistan National Youth Convention 2024, organized at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, which he participated as the chief guest. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir was Guest of Honour at the occasion.

The prime minister appreciated the role of armed forces in the fight against the menace of terrorism with full commitment and professional excellence.

He said that Pakistan’s successes in war against terrorism would not have been possible without the support and participation of the youth which makes 65 percent of the population.

PM Kakar said that as responsible citizens of Pakistan, we must all reject and collectively fight the vicious propaganda onslaught that the enemies have unleashed against the country.

The premier said that youth can play a constructive role in dealing with this emerging national security challenge provided they remain focused, and fact checked all details through authentic information from the state institutions rather than falling prey to propaganda.

COAS highlights role of youth in Pakistan’s development

While addressing the conference, COAS General Asim Munir highlighted that the youth was Pakistan’s biggest asset, and all optimism of a brighter future was associated with them.

Conveying the message of hope, he asked the youth to shun despondency. He referred to the historic role played by the youth in creation and development of the homeland Pakistan and exhorted them to partake in building the nation through honest toil, discipline, and a genuine quest for knowledge.

COAS underlined the power potential of the country, immense mineral wealth, the demographic dividend, a creative corpus of IT literate workforce, and great prospects in agriculture.

He stressed upon the significance of national unity and harmony to overcome multifarious challenges confronted by the country.

COAS recounted the sacrifices made by the country to counter the menace of terrorism and cautioned against machinations of Pakistan’s ill-wishers contributing towards extreme polarization within the society.
