Pakistan: PM, Chief Justice Meeting on IHC judges’ Letter Today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold a meeting with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa at the Supreme Court today, the law minister said.

Confirming the meeting, the country’s Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that meeting would be held about an epistle received by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from judges of the Islamabad High Court.

Earlier, on Tuesday, six IHC judges wrote a letter to Supreme Judicial Council members, alleging interference in judicial matters by executive.

Azam Nazir Tarar said that the PM will be accompanied by AGP Mansoor Usman Awan and himself.

After calls from various quarters, the Chief Justice of Pakistan also convened a full-court meeting of SC judges on Wednesday.
