KARACHI: Prominent Pakistani director and producer Wajahat Rauf on has announced his highly awaited drama series “Daurr” based on the novel “Eye On The Prize” by Safinah D. Elahi.
Since its announcement earlier in the current year Rauf’s “Daurr” adapted to TV screen by Mohsin Ali, the drama audiences are keenly awaiting the upcoming series as it not only looks massively promising but is expected to pull high ratings on its release.
Pakistani Drama Series “Daurr” Announced
Owing to its brilliant story and the leading cast Amna Ilyas, Ushna Shah, and Zhalay Sarhadi, Omer Shahzad, Ahmad Hassan, Shahvaar Ali Khan, Noreen Gulwani and backed by a powerful soundtrack performed by Aashir Wajahat, “Daurr” series is likely to go big and echo with audiences across the country.
The plot of the drama revolves around three families whose kids attend a private school in Pakistan’s major city Karachi. Shezray, the Chief Executive Officer of a textile firm, has two daughters and a procession of drivers and maids. Minhail, a mother of two, is haunted by her past and dreams of taking up her career once again. Similarly, Hina seeks s to climb the social ladder, and there is nothing that matters to her more.
The three ladies have different aspirations, but one thing is common between these women: they want their kids to win the Asian games their school is taking part in it. The drama portrays the theme that all that flashes is not gold, and children need love and affection rather than tributes and medals to be happy.
The Director of the drama sheds light on the madness of the race that everyone is caught up in, in his unique way with this series, using the perfect choice of actors who have brilliantly brought their characters to life.
Talking to the media novel “Eye On The Prize” writer Safinah D. Elahi, said that she was happy that mainstream media was also acquiring scripts based on her novels.
“Daurr” drama is releasing under the banner of Showcase, a joint venture of the stellar husband wife duo Wajahat Rauf and Shazia Wajahat.
