KARACHI: Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), is hopeful that the country’s rice export could reach $3 billion in the current fiscal year.
Chela Ram in a statement said during the last fiscal year rice exports fetched $2.14 billion, amounting to 3.7 million tons.
He was confident that exports of rice to reach 5 million tons while rice output in FY 24 would reach 9 million tons.
He noted Russian Federation has registered additional (15) companies to export Pakistani Rice to Russia and more companies are in the registration process.

Chela Ram said the Mexican technical team that arrived in Pakistan is satisfied with the compliance standards adopted by the companies.
He was hopeful that Mexico is likely to lift the ban on Pakistani rice exports.
Pakistani Rice exporters strongly believe that the Indian government’s ban on the export of non-basmati rice has created a space for Pakistani rice in the international market.
