Pakistani Rupee Gains Against US Dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee witnessed a slight gain against the US dollar in the interbank market on Tuesday, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) report.

The local currency gained Rs 0.11 against the greenback and closed at Rs283.92 in the interbank market against Rs 284.03 on the previous day.

Meanwhile, media reported the IMF (International Monetary Fund) expressed some reservations about the petrol subsidy scheme announced by the government of Pakistan a day earlier and added that the monetary fund was not consulted about the subsidy scheme.

Pak Rupee Against Euro, Poound and Others

Meanwhile, the price of the Euro witnessed appreciation by Rs 2.04 and closed at Rs 304.87 compared to Rs 302.83 the last day.

The Japanese Yen went down by 02 paisa to close at Rs 2.14, whereas the British Pound witnessed an increase of Rs 1.45 and was traded at Rs 347.74 against Rs 346.29 the previous day.

The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham went down by 03 paisa to close at Rs 77.30, and Saudi Riyal decreased by 05 paisa each to close at Rs 75.56.
