BEIJING: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited Linyi city of Shandong province where he engaged extensively with municipal leaders, participated in a trade and investment symposium, and conducted field visits to various business enterprises.
Khalil Hashmi, during his ongoing orientation visit to Shandong province, held meetings with municipal leadership. Ambassador Hashmi explored proposals to further enhance trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and Linyi, emphasizing initiatives such as B2B exchanges, educational collaborations, and fostering people-to-people ties. Moreover, he received a briefing on the urban development strategies from the City Planning Hall.

At the Pakistan Trade and Investment Symposium organized by the Linyi Municipal Government and other relevant departments, Ambassador Hashmi shared insights on Pakistan’s investment policies, incentives, and institutional support, highlighting the advantages of Special Economic Zones and other facilitation schemes.
Furthermore, Ambassador Hashmi held additional discussions aimed at strengthening economic ties, including engagements with Linyi Trade City Holding Group Co., Ltd., focusing on their significant role in supporting B2B activities for Gawadar and Pakistan through the Trade City Project initiated in 2016. He also visited various esteemed business enterprises and received briefings on the city’s wholesale markets and distribution centers.
Linyi, Shandong’s largest city, boasts a thriving economy, recording a GDP of 610.5 billion RMB last year, primarily driven by its robust commerce and logistics sector, featuring numerous wholesale markets and logistics parks.
