WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday met with UAE’s Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini in Washington.
During the meeting, Muhammad Aurangzeb acknowledged long-standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and UAE. The minister appreciated the UAE’s support to help Pakistan deal with its economic challenges.
He briefed UAE’s minister of state for financial Affairs about the priority areas of energy, taxation, and privatization of SOEs. He also informed that Islamabad wanted to re-engage with Middle Eastern Banks.

Moreover, Muhammad Aurangzeb also held a meeting with Hiroshi Matano, Executive Vice President Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). He appreciated MIGA’s continued support to Pakistan in attracting foreign investments.
The minister discussed the ongoing economic reforms, investment climate and steps to enhance investor confidence in Pakistan.
He also briefed the Executive Vice President of MIGA about the efforts being made to solve the problems of Korean investment company in Pakistan.
