Pakistan’s Future Lies in IT: Naveed Qamar

ISLAMABAD: Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister of Commerce said on Thursday that the Information Technology (IT) sector holds the key to enhance exports of the Pakistan.

Talking to the Pak American IT professionals and entrepreneurs via Zoom meeting here at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, the minister said that the future of Pakistan lies in IT. If the IT industry is ignored, the goal of increasing exports would remain elusive.

Naveed Qamar stresses for right policies

He said that IT sector is the major area where facilitation and right policies could bring exponential growth in the near future.

The meeting was attended by renowned IT professional and entrepreneurs, including Mohammad Anwar Khan, Naeem Raza, Naveed Sherwani, Moazzam Chaudhry Junaid Qureshi, Aly Fahd, and others.

Pakistan’s envoy to the United States Masood Khan, Deputy Chief of Mission Syed Naveed Bokhari, Minister (Trade), Secretary Board of Investment Asad Gillani, Azmat Mahmood and other senior officers were also present during the meeting.

The participants presented different suggestions to ensure a conducive environment for the growth of the IT sector in Pakistan and to strengthen Pak-US trade relations, particularly in the IT and tech sectors.
