PCB to Announce Squad Tomorrow for T20I Series Against New Zealand

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to announce the final squad for the T20I series against New Zealand on Tuesday (tomorrow), private media reported on Monday. 

According to detail, the selection committee has consulted the skipper Babar Azam before naming the 18-member squad, and a formal announcement will be made on Tuesday.

According to sources, the possible squad comprising Saim Ayub, Muhammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Azam Khan, Nasim Shah, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Usman, Imad Wasim, Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Wasim Junior and Fakhar Zaman.

Mohammad Amir, who recently took back his decision of retirement, would likely be part of the squad, whereas Haris Rauf would miss the series due to his injury in the PSL a month before. 

Besides, among other probable contenders, selection committee may also have a pick or two from the list including Abrar Ahmed, Osama Mir, Irfan Niazi and Abbas Afridi.

The first T20 contest between the two sides will be played on April 18 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
