ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the rapidly growing economic and cultural ties between Pakistan and China, attributing much of this progress to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In a message commemorating the global observance of Chinese Language Day, he highlighted the increasing number of Pakistanis learning the Chinese language, which further strengthens the bond between the two nations.

Each year on April 20, the United Nations (UN) observes Chinese Language Day to recognize the significant contributions of Chinese literature, poetry, and language to global culture.

The Prime Minister noted that both official and public sectors are actively promoting the Chinese language and literature to enhance people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and China.

Reflecting on the significance of Chinese Language Day, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the deep-rooted cultural heritage embedded within the Chinese language, serving as a testament to centuries-old Chinese culture.

He also acknowledged China’s remarkable economic growth in recent decades, alongside the increasing popularity of the Chinese language and culture worldwide.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the global prominence of the Chinese language, noting its status as the largest tool of communication and its inclusion in the UN’s list of official communication languages.
