PM Shehbaz Sharif Calls for Strong Bond between Pakistan and Turkiye

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his desire to strengthen the bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizing the importance of brotherly relations and enhanced cooperation in various sectors.

In an interview with foreign media, the Prime Minister praised the leadership of Turkiye’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and extended his congratulations on his recent success.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted his vision to deepen the ties between the two countries, focusing on trade, investment, and mutual cooperation. He expressed his aim to increase bilateral trade to 5 billion dollars within the next three years. Furthermore, he welcomed Turkish investment in Pakistan’s solar energy and hydropower sectors, emphasizing the potential for growth and development in these areas.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the promising prospects of the railroad network project between Iran and Turkiye, emphasizing that Turkiye’s technological expertise combined with Pakistan’s skilled workforce could lead to fruitful outcomes for both nations.

PM Shehbaz Sharif Acknowledges Turkiye’s Unconditional Support

Amid Pakistan facing challenges such as fatal floods and financial loss, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged Turkiye’s unconditional support in advocating for the Kashmir cause. He called for the resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

Expressing his discontent, the Prime Minister criticized the PTI Chairman for allegedly encouraging miscreants to target important installations in the country. He commended the Pakistani people for maintaining peace and refraining from protests or violence.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the contrast between the response to the arrest of PTI’s leadership on corruption charges and the lack of agitation during his party’s leadership arrests in the past four years.
