PMSA Recovers 2 More Bodies from Sunken Fishing Boat

KARACHI: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, in collaboration with the Pakistan Navy, continued their search efforts on the 8th day following the tragic sinking of the Fishing Boat AL ASAD ALI (23377-B) near Hajambaro Creek.

Despite facing challenges such as dense marine traffic and rough sea conditions, PMSA units successfully recovered the bodies of 2 fishermen at sea on Tuesday, it said in a statement.

The statement issued on Wednesday said that the recovered bodies were promptly handed over to the relevant authorities for further proceedings.

With this latest development, the total number of bodies recovered from the sea stands at 12. The search operation for the remaining two bodies is underway, with PN and PMSA units deployed at sea maintaining close coordination with the fishing community and local authorities.

Boat Incident

The incident, which occurred on March 5 near Hajambaro Creek, is believed to have been caused by a combination of technical problems and adverse weather conditions.

The dedication and ongoing search efforts by PMSA and PN units highlighted their steadfast commitment and preparedness to respond to maritime emergencies and assist in civil calamities at sea, the statement added.
