PNCA to Hold Sham-e-Wajd in Tribute to Aziz Mian Qawwal

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will organize a Qawwali evening “Sham-e-Wajd” tomorrow as a tribute to legend Aziz Mian Qawwal.

Imran Aziz Mian Qawwal, the son of the late Aziz Mian, will entertain the souls of the audience by singing the popular Qawwalis and Sufi lyrics of his father.

Director General PNCA Ayub Jamali said in a statement that the audience and Sufi music lovers will have an opportunity to experience a soul-stirring and spiritual evening of Qawwali. He said that this type of music transcends the boundaries of all languages, with its truth and captivating beauty.

PNCA Brings Quality Entertainment

He said that PNCA has arranged the Qawwali evening to bring exciting and quality entertainment for the locals of twin cities. These shows promote message of love, harmony and peace.

He added that mystics have played a considerable role in spreading of the divine message of Islam and the Qawwals took this great message to the all corners of the sub-continent. 

Unique way of singing

Aziz Mian Qawwal was a famous Pakistani qawwali and Sufi singer who was admired by tens of thousands of his fans for his unique way of singing. He is considered one of the greatest qawwals in South Asia.

He made a record for singing the longest commercially released qawwali Hashr Ke Roz Yeh Poochchunga over 150 minutes. –APP
