KARACHI: In the 19th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9, Multan Sultans have won the toss and elected to bat first against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.

The Karachi Kings, led by Shan Masood, are facing a challenging schedule, playing their third match in five days following encounters with Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators, resulting in losses for the team. Despite their efforts, the Karachi Kings have managed only two wins out of five matches, currently occupying the fifth position in the PSL 9 points table.

Adding to their challenges, the Karachi Kings will be without key player Kieron Pollard, who departed for Mumbai to participate in the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani.

On the other hand, Multan Sultans lead the league comfortably with 10 points from six matches, two points ahead of the second-placed Quetta Gladiators. Under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan, the Sultans have exhibited exceptional performance, evident in their dominant 60-run win in their last encounter against Lahore Qalandars, despite missing several key players.

A victory for the Sultans in today’s match would further solidify their position at the top of the points table, increasing pressure on Rilee Rossouw’s Quetta Gladiators.
