ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has updated the list of validly registered political parties with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) among the 166 recognised political parties.
The ECP has released a new list of registered political parties, which includes the PTI. Last week, the ECP had delisted 13 parties that did not hold intra-party elections.
Recently, the electoral body also released the final lists of minority candidates in connection with the general elections. According to the list, the PTI has been out of the race for the seats reserved for women and minorities in the national and all four provincial assemblies.
The supreme court had striped PTI of its election symbol ‘Bat’ also depriving it of the reserved quota for the parties winning seats in the assemblies.
