Lahore: In a major development and to move a step ahead towards green and clean energy, the Punjab caretaker government handed over the first-ever e-rickshaw manufacturing license to Sazgar Engineering in a ceremony here on Tuesday. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi also graced the occasion.
Earlier during the event, Sazgar Chief Asad Hameed received the license. After receiving the license, Asad termed it a great achievement and a step in promoting clean and green energy in the country. He further said that the manufacturing/assembling of electric rickshaws in Pakistan would introduce a revolution in public transport with low maintenance and less burden on the environment.

Sazgar is a major rickshaw manufacturing company in Pakistan with an agreeable number of export capabilities. The recent step of introducing the E-Rickshaw would not only help in encouraging other companies to focus on electric vehicles in the country but would also help in resolving the issue of pollution and smog. It is worth mentioning here that in recent times, Lahore has remained one of the most polluted cities in the world.
