Punjab Seeks Applications from Non-Muslim Regular Students for Scholarship Program

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Sunday asked deserving non-Muslim students studying in government institutes to submit their merit-based scholarship applications by 12 May 2023.

Minority students with excellent educational records, whose monthly family income does not exceed 38,375 rupees, will be eligible for the scholarship program for the fiscal year 2022-23.

Interested applicants from matric to PhD standards who hold a Punjab domicile can apply for the scholarship.

The eligibility criteria for the program include regular students of Sikh, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, and other minority communities who have achieved at least 40% marks in their most recent annual examination.

Eligibility for scholarship

Minority students enrolled in professional-level areas such as MBBS, BDS, BSc (English), BSc (Nursing), DVM, Pharm-D, PhD, or equivalent are eligible for an annual scholarship of 50,000 rupees.

Postgraduate students pursuing MSc, M. Com, MA, MCS/MBA, M Phil, LLM, or equivalent studies will receive 35,000 rupees per annum, while undergraduate students pursuing BSc, BBA, BA,

B com or equivalent studies will receive 30,000 rupees per annum.

Moreover, students enrolled in intermediate-level programs such as FSc, I. Com, A Level, FA, DAE, or equivalent areas will receive 20,000 rupees annually, while matric-level students will get 15,000 rupees annually.

The initiative aims to empower regular minority students studying in government institutes in Punjab, including those run by the federal government in the province, to achieve their academic targets and contribute to society.

Students in federal government institutes outside the provinces are not eligible to apply for the program. While students receiving virtual or distance education are also not eligible to apply.
