Raisi Pays Respects at Allama Iqbal’s Mausoleum

LAHORE: Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi has visited the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore to pay his respects to the “poet of East” as he arrived in the city.

Earlier, President Raisi arrived in Lahore where he was welcomed by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Information Minister Azma Bokhari, Minister for Secondary Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Suleman Rafiq, and Senator Pervez Rasheed were also present at the occasion.

Earlier, the President held meeting with President, Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff during his first day of visit in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Iran have agreed to promote their bilateral relations in diverse sectors including trade, political, economic, and culture. At a press a joint press conference, Iranian President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said the two sides have also decided to enhance their trade volume to 10 billion dollars.

On the occasion, the two leaders also inaugurated the Iran Avenue, while President Raisi also planted a sapling at the premises of the Prime Minister House.
