MOSCOW: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the West for destabilizing the South Caucasus region in pursuit of its goal to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. Speaking at the Foreign Ministry board, Lavrov stated that the West aims to undermine Russia’s relations with countries in the region, destroying regional economic and security cooperation formats.

Lavrov promised to continue fostering mutually respectful and beneficial cooperation with all states in the region, underscoring Russia’s deep-rooted historical ties, geographical proximity, and close human connections with them.

He also affirmed Russia’s commitment to seeking a peaceful settlement of disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including signing a peace treaty, unblocking transport communications, and border delimitation.
