JEDDAH: Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, has congratulated Jeremiah Manele on his election as prime minister of the Solomon Islands, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
According to the SPA, the Crown Prince in his cable wished Manele all success and the people of the Solomon Islands further prosperity and progress.
Former diplomat Jeremiah Manele was elected prime minister of Solomon Islands on Thursday.
Governor-General David Vunagi announcing the victory of Manele said that the former diplomat bagged 31 votes in a secret ballot of 50 MPs.
Manele pledged a “government of national unity” with a focus on improving the economy and “making progress on the road to recovery” after the coronavirus pandemic.
