LONDON: Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf’s family members are trapped in Gaza amid Israeli military continued airstrikes, and he fears they might not make it through the night.

The parents of Nadia El-Nakla, Yousaf’s Palestinian wife, were visiting family in Gaza when Israel started airstrikes over the weekend.

Yousaf told journalists on Monday that as many will know, my wife is Palestinian, her dad and mum, my in-laws, who live in Dundee Scotland, been in Gaza and are currently trapped there.

He said that despite the best efforts of the British Foreign Office, nobody, can guarantee them safe passage anywhere.

For now, Humza Yousaf said he will wait by the phone with his wife. Yousaf added that we cannot sleep and constantly watching our phones. When our messages do get through, we are waiting for a reply.

Humza Yousaf is Worry About Family

“I am worried about my family, there will be many people, including in the Jewish community of Scotland, for example, who will be really worried about their beloved ones in Israel that have come to harm,” he added.

He said that my thoughts go out to everybody, because innocent civilians have nothing to do with the war.
