Scotland Offers Sanctuary for Palestine Refugees

EDINBURGH: First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) on Wednesday offered refuge to the displaced Palestinians of Gaza following a recent conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Hamza Yusuf in a post on social media platform X, formerly twitter said people in Scotland and across the UK have opened their hearts and homes.

He said Scotland has given refuge to people from Syria, Ukraine and many other countries.

“Scotland is ready to play her part,” he said.

The minister went on to say that Scotland is the first country in the UK to offer safety and sanctuary to the people of Gaza.  He also offered help to treat the injured men, women and children.

Earlier Hamza Yusuf in a statement said that nearly 1.1 million have been displaced within Gaza adding that international community to commit to a worldwide refugee program for the people of Gaza.

He advised the UK government to take immediately begin work on the creation of a refugee resettlement scheme for those in Gaza who want to leave and when they do so Scotland is willing to be the first country in UK to those who are caught up in these terrible attacks.

He warned that hospitals in Gaza are running out of medical supplies.
