Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf’s in-laws Leave Gaza

LONDON: Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf has said that his parents-in-law have finally managed to leave Gaza, Western media reported on Friday. He confirmed the development and said that they entered to Egypt via the Rafah crossing.

Elizabeth and Maged Al-Nakla, the parents of Humza Yousaf’s wife Nadia, became stranded in the Gaza due to war between Hamas and Israel.

As per media reports, they were in Gaza visiting relatives when Israel declared war on Gaza. Since then, Israeli army has persistently bombarded the Gaza and also started ground offensive. In a statement, Humza Yousaf said, “We are very happy to confirm that Nadia’s parents were able to leave the Gaza Strip via the Rafah Crossing,”.

On the other hand, the Palestinian Health Ministry has said that at least 13 people have been martyred and more than 26 others wounded in a ‘massacre’ after a barbaric Israeli airstrike targeted ambulances in Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

Earlier, a government official said Israeli army targeted “a convoy of ambulances which was shifting the injured”, while the health ministry stated several wounded were killed in the attack near Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

Israeli army also admitted that more than 260 soldiers were injured in clashes with Hamas in Gaza.

In a statement, a top UN official said that more than 1.5 million people have been displaced due to war on Gaza. “The present number of displaced in the Gaza Strip stands at over 1.5 million, with more than 690,000 sheltering in UNWRA centers, and other areas Gazans’ hope are safe, including schools, hospitals and churches,” Lynn Hastings, UN official Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated.

World Health Organization chief ‘completely shocked’ by Israeli airstrikes on ambulances near al-Shifa Hospital. He renewed his call for a truce in light of the fresh attacks.
