DUSHANBE: Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have reached an agreement to allow trucks to transit between their territories without the need for permits.
This move, as reported by Tajik media outlet Asia Plus, comes as part of efforts to strengthen trade links between the two nations.
Once the protocol is ratified by both countries, truck drivers will be able to travel freely without the bureaucratic requirement of permits.
The expansion of cooperation between the two countries has led to over 1,200 transit cargo transportation annually across their shared borders, according to data from the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
The agreement is expected to further facilitate trade and enhance economic ties between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
