LOS ANGELES: The ongoing feud between Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian reached new heights as Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, dropped a track seemingly aimed at the reality TV star.

Titled “thanK you aIMee,” the song appears to address their long-standing animosity, resulting in Kardashian losing over 100,000 Instagram followers and counting.

According to reports from PageSix, Kardashian’s Instagram account, which boasted 364.3 million followers just last month, saw a significant decline, dropping to 363 million shortly after Swift’s song release. The lyrics of “thanK you aIMee” contain thinly veiled references to Kardashian, with lines like “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’ / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel,” suggesting a direct confrontation.

The rift between Swift and Kardashian dates back to 2016 when Kardashian’s then-husband, Kanye West, released a song containing derogatory remarks about Swift, claiming he made her famous. Kardashian defended West’s actions, alleging Swift approved the lyrics, leading to a public fallout. Swift, however, maintained she never consented to the offensive language and accused Kardashian of editing a phone call to misrepresent the situation.

Swift’s supporters flooded Kardashian’s social media with snake emojis, prompting Swift to reclaim the imagery in her subsequent album, Reputation, often considered her “revenge album.” Now, in The Tortured Poets Department, Swift continues to address the feud, suggesting it was never a “fair fight” and detailing the impact of being constantly scrutinized by Kardashian and the media.

Despite the public spectacle, Kardashian has remained silent on the diss track, leaving fans speculating about her next move. Swift, on the other hand, has been vocal about her experiences with bullying, expressing in a 2019 essay for Elle her desire for an apology but acknowledging the satisfaction of thriving despite adversity.
