WASHINGTON: Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, who has largely remained out of the public eye during his high school years, is poised to make his political debut in July as a delegate at the Republican Party convention.

At 18 years old, Barron will join his siblings in representing Florida at the convention in Milwaukee, where his father, Donald Trump, is expected to be officially nominated as the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election against Democrat President Joe Biden.

Barron will be part of the Florida delegation alongside his siblings, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, as confirmed by the state party on Wednesday. Despite being shielded from public attention by his mother Melania during his father’s presidency, Barron has shown interest in the nation’s political process.

“He’s on the delegation roster, and Barron is very interested in our nation’s political process,” a Republican campaign official told ABC News.

Among Trump’s children, only his oldest daughter, Ivanka, who served as a senior advisor during his first presidency alongside her husband Jared Kushner, is not listed as a Florida delegate at the convention.

Both Don Jr. and Eric frequently accompany their father and actively participate in his re-election campaign efforts. Trump has been consolidating his family’s influence within the party, with Eric’s wife, Lara, recently elected to a leadership position within the Republican National Committee.

The former president has even secured a day off from his ongoing legal proceedings in New York to attend Barron’s graduation ceremony next Friday.
