Turkmenistan Pledges Expansion of International Transport Corridors

ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the nation’s commitment to enhancing international transport corridors during the 38th meeting of the Conference of Heads and Responsible Representatives of Railway Transport Enterprises of OSJD member states.

Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan’s focus on expanding infrastructure along key transport corridors, connecting vital nodes along North-South and East-West routes. He cited the Ashgabat Declaration and the TRACECA agreement as affirmations of Turkmenistan’s dedication to transit and transport cooperation.

The President underscored efforts to develop the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor and facilitate increased cargo transportation.

Simultaneously, the conference commenced in Ashgabat, gathering heads and representatives from railway departments of 19 OSJD member countries, alongside observers from Finland, France, Germany, and Greece. Scheduled until April 19, the event aims to foster collaboration and innovation in railway transport.
