PESHAWAR: Tragedy struck on Monday when a jeep plunged into a steep ravine near the Sharan region of Balakot, resulting in the tragic deaths of two tourists and causing injuries to six others.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Balakot, Tariq Khan, informed the media that the accident occurred as a speeding jeep veered off the road and tumbled into the ravine near Sharan in the Paras area, claiming the lives of two tourists on the spot. Additionally, six individuals sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
Emergency response teams promptly transported the injured individuals and the deceased to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Balakot.
The SHO further said that an investigation is underway to determine the precise cause of this unfortunate accident.
