UN Chief Congratulates Shehbaz Sharif on Becoming Pakistan PM

UNITED NATIONS: The UN Secretary- General Antonio Guterres Monday extended facilitations to Shehbaz Sharif after becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan, saying he was looking forward to work with him on various issues.

Stephane Dujarric, the UN Chief’s spokesperson in a statement said that the UN Chief congratulates Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan and look forward to continuing collaboration with the country on different issues.

Malaysian PM Felicitates PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim on Monday congratulated the newly-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.

During n a telephonic call, he expressed best wishes for him and Quaid of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Nawaz Sharif.

PM Shehbaz Sharif thanked his Malaysian counterpart, saying that Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy strong brotherly relations.

Underscoring the close and cordial ties between Pakistan and Malaysia, he stressed the importance of regular high-level exchanges to ensure a strong bilateral cooperation.

Both leaders agreed to work closely to further enhance the existing relationship between the two countries.

The prime minister during call extended an invitation to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to visit Pakistan.  The Malaysian prime minister, while accepting the invitation, also invited PM Shehbaz Sharif to visit his country.

President of Tajikistan congratulates PM Shehbaz

Meanwhile President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon also congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on becoming the new PM of Pakistan stressing that through joint efforts, both the countries would strengthen and expand long-term bilateral partnership.

He added that Tajikistan and Pakistan are linked by long traditions of friendship, respect and trust.

The Tajik president also invited the prime minister to visit his country to further boost bilateral cooperation.

The National Assembly elected Shehbaz Sharif as the Leader of the House by 201 votes, defeating Omar Ayub of the Sunni Ittehad Council on Sunday.

PM Shehbaz took of the office for a second term at a ceremony held at the President House in Islamabad on Monday.
