KUWAIT: Mansour Alotaibi, Kuwait’s deputy minister for foreign affairs, met on Sunday with Abdullah Dashti, United Nations Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Arab media reported.
UN, Kuwait discuss food security
According to Kuwait News Agency, the two sides discussed matters relating to world food security during the meeting. Turkey and the UN brokered the Black Sea Grain agreement between Russia and Ukraine last July to help address world food crisis aggravated by Ukraine war, a leading grain exporter worldwide.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Farm Minister said that Ukraine would be ready to continue grain export across the Black Sea as part of a “B plan” without Moscow backing if Russia pulls the plug on the present grain deal and it collapses.
