Launching Ceremony of Pakistan’s Hangor-Class Submarine Held in China

RAWALPINDI: The launching ceremony of the first Hangor-class submarine built for Pakistan Navy was held in China, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

The ISPR in a statement said that the ceremony was held at the Shuangliu base of the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion.

It is pertinent to mention here that the project will add a new dimension to Pakistan-China friendship.

The statement said that under the contract, four submarines will be built in China while the other four will be built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited in Pakistan.

These submarines will be equipped with advanced weapons and sensors to hit long-range targets.
