PESHAWAR: A delegation from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Planning and Development Department Chief Economist Arifullah Awan on Friday.
The meeting held in Peshawar focused on UNHCR’s interventions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly concerning flood assessment and rehabilitation efforts. Both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation for regional improvement.
The chief economist praised UNHCR’s significant role in the province and affirmed the government’s support for collaborative initiatives addressing critical issues like flood management and rehabilitation.
It is pertinent to mention here that Arifullah Awan, appointed as Chief Economist last week, is a seasoned officer of the Pakistan Administrative Services.
