US Navy Ship Arrives Karachi to Conducts Sea Drill with Pakistan Navy

KARACHI: The US Navy Ship USS INDIANAPOLIS, a Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), visited Pakistan’s port city Karachi on Thursday and conducted a sea drill with the Pakistan Navy.

According to military media affairs wing the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the US Navy ship was warmly welcomed by senior officials of the Pakistan Navy upon its arrival in Karachi.

During its stay in Karachi, activities included professional interactions between PN officials and the ship’s crew, featuring table-top discussions on contemporary issues. Moreover, planning and coordination meetings were held for the joint sea exercise, read the ISPR statement.

At sea, the Pakistan Navy Ship ALAMGIR, with an embarked helicopter, conducted a sea exercise with the visiting US Navy ship to enhance interoperability between the two navies.

The sea exercise aimed to bolster mutual professional skills through cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Pakistan Navy has consistently played a significant role in ensuring safety, security, and freedom of navigation in high seas, aligning with government policies. Its participation in regional maritime security patrols and Coalition Maritime Forces operations since 2004 underscores PN’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
