Uzbekistan Dispatches 169 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

TASHKENT: A new shipment of humanitarian aid dispatched from Uzbekistan’s Termez region to the Balkh province of Afghanistan, the administration of Surkhandarya region said on Friday.

The aid consisted of 48 tons of flour, 48 tons of wheat, 15 tons of vegetable oil, and more than 10,000 units of canned meat.

It also consisted 24 tons of sugar, 100,000 packages of instant noodles, and 22 tons of pasta.

The aid handover ceremony held at the Astras company in Hairatan and was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Erkin Khamrayev, Surkhandarya’s head Ulugbek Kosimov, Balkh Province’s Governor Muhammad Yusuf Vafo, and other official representing both countries.

Officilas from Balkh province thanked the president and the people of Uzbekistan for their assistance during this challenging period of their country.
