Uzbekistan’s President Pardons 334 Inmates on Constitution Anniversary

TASHKENT: Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoev has pardoned 334 prisoners who are serving sentences for different criminal offenses.

The decree, signed in commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Uzbek Constitution on December 7, includes 18 foreign citizens, 23 women, 15 men over 60 years old, and 88 prisoners convicted for association with prohibited organizations. 

Uzbekistan’s President traditionally announces pardons before major holidays in the country.
